Oyo Schoolchildren and Teachers Rescued from Kidnappers

All kidnapped schoolchildren and teachers from a secondary school in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, have been successfully rescued. The abduction occurred on May 15 when heavily armed gunmen invaded the community, abducting 46 pupils and teachers, which triggered nationwide concern.

The situation escalated tragically when teacher Michael Oyedokun was beheaded by the abductors. The confirmation of the rescue operation was made today, although details surrounding the operation, including whether any arrests were made, have not yet been disclosed.
