BREAKING: ASUP Issues 21-Day Ultimatum To FG Over Unmet Demands

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to address their unmet demands. During an emergency National Executive Council meeting in Abuja, ASUP President Shammah Kpanja highlighted issues such as the non-release of a circular for the payment of Peculiar Academic Allowance and the outsourcing of accreditation processes by the National Board for Technical Education.

The union also expressed frustration over the delayed approval of a dual mandate structure and the non-implementation of the national minimum wage by some state governments for polytechnic workers. If the government fails to address these issues within the ultimatum period, ASUP may declare a trade dispute and withdraw services across public polytechnics and monotechnics nationwide.
