ASUU Issues 14-Day Ultimatum to Federal Government

ASUU has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Government, threatening a nationwide strike if their demands are not met. The ultimatum, announced by ASUU National President Chris Piwuna following a meeting in Abuja, highlights the government's alleged neglect of the university system and failure to implement crucial agreements.

ASUU demands the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement, adequate funding for universities, payment of outstanding salary arrears, and the establishment of a sustainable funding mechanism. Failure to address these issues may lead to a warning strike followed by an indefinite nationwide strike.

The Federal Ministry of Education has been tasked with resolving the union's proposals within the stipulated timeframe.
