Boko Haram Attacks Chibok Community, Sets Homes Ablaze

On Thursday evening, Boko Haram terrorists launched an attack on Kautikari village in the Chibok Local Government Area, setting houses ablaze and causing residents to flee into nearby bushes for safety. The assault began around 6:50 PM, with local security sources confirming the attack.

Residents reported sporadic gunfire and the burning of homes, but the exact number of casualties remains unconfirmed. This incident follows a previous attack on March 30, 2026, where several residents were killed, including a local hunter named Mallam Bumto.

Additionally, Johanna Peter was reported killed, with his wedding scheduled for the following day. The recent violence has led to widespread displacement and destruction of property, forcing residents to abandon their community.

Official casualty figures have not yet been released, and the situation remains dire as the community grapples with the aftermath of this latest assault.
