Terrorists Attack Baga Community in Niger State, Killing Five

On Tuesday morning, terrorists attacked the Baga community in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and injuries to at least eight others. The assault involved approximately 160 terrorists who invaded the community, setting houses ablaze and causing thick smoke to rise.

Villagers fled the area, abandoning their homes in the chaos. An anonymous community member reported that the terrorists had previously rustled cattle from the nearby Nada village.

In response to the attack, security agencies have been mobilized to the area; however, as of the time of this report, police authorities had not issued a statement regarding the incident. Niger State has recently become a hotspot for terrorist activities, particularly along the borders with Kaduna and Kwara states, leading to a rise in insecurity in the region.
