NUJ and Chevron Launch Training for Energy Journalists

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has partnered with Chevron Nigeria Limited to initiate the 2026 Chevron Media Capacity Building Programme for Energy Correspondents. This training program commenced on Tuesday at the NUJ FCT Secretariat in Utako, Abuja.

It aims to strengthen the capacity of journalists covering Nigeria’s energy sector by providing them with practical knowledge and skills necessary for accurate, balanced, and impactful reporting. The initiative gathers energy correspondents, media professionals, and industry stakeholders to discuss emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, energy transition, sustainability, and responsible journalism.

This capacity-building effort underscores Chevron’s commitment to supporting professional journalism and enhancing understanding of the evolving energy landscape in Nigeria, while also reinforcing the NUJ FCT Council’s objective of promoting continuous professional development among journalists.
