Court Grants Miyetti Allah President N2bn Bail in Abuja

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo, granted bail to Bello Bodejo, the President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, in the amount of N2 billion. This decision was made on Monday as Bodejo faces trial for alleged money laundering involving $2.63 million.

The court ruled that Bodejo must provide two sureties, one of whom must have a property worth N2 billion within the Federal Capital Territory and a three-year tax clearance. Additionally, Bodejo is required to surrender his international passport and is barred from traveling outside Nigeria without court permission.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned Bodejo on July 9, 2024, on 12 counts related to money laundering, to which he pleaded not guilty. The EFCC alleges that Bodejo unlawfully received and possessed large sums of cash from the Bauchi State government, exceeding legal thresholds.

The case has been adjourned until October 5, 6, and 7, 2026, for trial commencement.
