DSS Arrests Former Minister Uche Nnaji for Corruption

Uche Nnaji, a former Minister of Science and Technology, was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday morning at Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu. His arrest occurred as he was preparing to board a private jet bound for Abuja.

The DSS acted on a request from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), which is investigating allegations of certificate forgery involving Nnaji. Following his arrest, Nnaji was transferred into the custody of the ICPC for further investigation.

Sources familiar with the matter indicated that the anti-graft agency had previously issued several invitations to Nnaji regarding concerns during his tenure as minister, which he allegedly did not respond to. Nnaji resigned from his ministerial position in October of the previous year amid public attention surrounding the allegations of certificate forgery.
