EFCC Arrests Energy Commission DG Mustapha Abdullahi

Mustapha Abdullahi, the Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday in Abuja. His arrest is linked to allegations of involvement in a money laundering scheme amounting to N500 billion.

Abdullahi was appointed to his role by President Bola Tinubu on October 24, 2023. Prior to his appointment, he served as a senior technical adviser in the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology.

He is also a chartered engineer and a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. As of the latest reports, the EFCC has not issued an official statement regarding the details surrounding the investigation.
