EFCC Arrests Energy Commission DG Mustapha Abdullahi

Mustapha Abdullahi, the Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) due to allegations of money laundering linked to an estimated N500 billion. Sources within the anti-graft agency, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the arrest, which took place in Abuja.

Abdullahi is currently in custody as investigations continue. Efforts to confirm details from EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.

Abdullahi was appointed by President Bola Tinubu on October 24, 2023, as the Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria. Further details regarding the allegations and the circumstances of his arrest have not been disclosed.
