El-Rufai’s Son Joins ADC from APC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North, has officially announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This decision was confirmed in a statement released on Thursday and was announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abba, during a plenary session where Bello submitted his resignation letter from the APC.

Bello, the son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, expressed that his decision to leave the APC was guided by principles and a commitment to represent the people effectively. He emphasized that this move marks the beginning of a new political direction focused on grassroots representation.

Additionally, two other lawmakers from Kaduna State, Suleiman Richifa and Umar Ajilo, have also joined the ADC, indicating a potential shift in the political landscape in the region ahead of the upcoming elections.
