El-Rufai’s Son Joins ADC, Resigns from APC

Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This announcement was made on Thursday, coinciding with the resignation of other lawmakers, including a representative from Kudan who left the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ADC.

The political landscape in Nigeria is witnessing significant shifts as several politicians are defecting from their parties, indicating a growing wave of political realignment in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. Notably, Suleiman Richifa, representing Soba, and Abdulhakeem Ado from Kano State also announced their party changes, with Ado moving from ADC to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

This trend reflects increasing movements among opposition politicians across the country in recent weeks.
