Yari Named DG of APC Presidential Campaign Council

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has established a Presidential Campaign Council for the upcoming January 2027 Presidential election, appointing former Governor of Zamfara State and current Senator, Abdulaziz Yari, as the Director-General. Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State will serve as the Secretary.

The announcement was made by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga. President Bola Tinubu will chair the council, with Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman.

Other key figures include APC Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as vice chairman, and Senator Ajibola Bashiru and Hadiza Bala-Usman as deputy and assistant secretaries, respectively. The council will also include notable advisers such as Chief Bisi Akande and Senator Rochas Okorocha.

Deputy director-generals include Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker Tajudeen Abass. The campaign will feature various zonal directors and a media directorate led by Minister of Information Mohammed Idris Malagi.

This structure aims to enhance the party's strategy for the upcoming election.
