FCT Minister Wike Cancels 485 Fraudulent Land Titles

Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, has approved the cancellation of 485 land titles in Abuja due to their failure to meet official verification standards. This decision follows an extensive review by the Department of Land Administration in collaboration with the Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS).

The affected titles were found to be fraudulent and have been marked as invalid in a public notice released by the FCTA. The cancellations span multiple area councils, including Bwari Area Council, impacting locations such as Ushafa Village and Kurudu.

This initiative is part of a broader land administration reform aimed at tackling long-standing issues of fraudulent documents and double allocations. Since 2006, a total of 8,287 land documents have been submitted for screening, with only 3.2 percent remaining in the database.

The FCTA aims to strengthen transparency in property documentation through this latest cancellation.
