BREAKING: FG Confirms Moves To Name Terrorism Financiers In Nigeria

The Federal Government has confirmed efforts to identify and prosecute financiers of terrorism in Nigeria, acknowledging the complexity of the process due to international connections and legal challenges. Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, revealed in an interview that the process involves legal issues and international links, which may take time to address.

The Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) has been instrumental in exposing the money trail linked to terror groups, leading to arrests. Musa praised the NFIU's efforts and mentioned that the Department of State Services (DSS) and National Intelligence Agency (NIA) are monitoring politicians allegedly funding insecurity.

He emphasized the need for reform in the justice system, including establishing special courts for terrorism cases and imposing tougher punishments on offenders. The government is committed to addressing the issue of terrorism financing and ensuring peace and security in the country.
