FG Charges Ansaru Commanders with Terrorism Offenses, Swift Prosecution Expected

The Federal Government, through the DSS, has filed terrorism charges against two top commanders of the Ansaru terrorist group. The suspects, Abu Baraa and Mahmuda, were arrested in a covert operation and face multiple charges, including leading a terrorist organization, financing terrorism, and coordinating violent attacks nationwide.

The DSS is conducting thorough investigations to ensure a swift prosecution in line with legal procedures and human rights standards. The suspects are expected to be arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja soon.
