Synergy Among Forces Led To Arrest Of Ansaru Leaders – CDS

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, credited the successful arrest of Ansaru leaders to the synergy among the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Air Force. In an appearance on Channels Television's Politics Today, General Irabor praised the collaboration that led to the capture of the terrorist commanders.

The operation was described as a breakthrough, with the military conducting a relentless covert operation over the past year. National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu announced the arrest of two Ansaru leaders, Mahmud Muhammad Usman and Mahmud, who were responsible for multiple attacks in the region.

Mahmud was also linked to the 2022 Kuje prison attack and the 2013 assault on a Niger uranium facility. The arrests were a result of international cooperation and the seamless coordination among security agencies.
