BREAKING: FG Withdraws Criminal Charges Against Ibom Air Passenger, Comfort Emmanson

The Federal Government has withdrawn criminal charges against Ibom Air passenger, Comfort Emmanson, following her recent unruly conduct on a flight. Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo announced the decision, citing remorse shown by Emmanson and consultations with key stakeholders.

Ibom Air has agreed to withdraw its complaint against Emmanson, leading to her release from Kirikiri Prison. Additionally, the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) accepted the ministerial appeal to lift a lifetime flying ban imposed on Emmanson.

In a related development, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) reduced the flight ban on music star Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1) to one month. Keyamo also ordered the restoration of ValueJet Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba's licenses, emphasizing the importance of maintaining safety and security in the aviation sector.

The minister warned that the government would not compromise on aviation safety going forward.
