NUPENG Blocks Trucks at Dangote Refinery, Fuel Scarcity Looms

Fuel scarcity may soon hit Nigeria as the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) blocked trucks from loading at Dangote Refinery. NUPENG workers barricaded the refinery entrance, preventing trucks without official stickers from accessing the facility.

This action followed an alleged breach of an earlier resolution by the refinery management regarding NUPENG's recognition rights. The union reinforced its blockade after receiving information that the refinery planned to forcibly remove trucks stationed there.

The confrontation intensified when the refinery allegedly attempted to bring in trucks without NUPENG stickers for loading, prompting NUPENG to take a firm stance to protect its members' interests.
