Chief Lekan Alabi, a prominent veteran journalist and former press secretary to various Oyo State governors, passed away on Saturday morning in Lagos at the age of 76. His death was confirmed in a statement by Adeola Oloko, the media aide to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.

The statement noted that Alabi, who held the title of Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, would be buried the following day, Sunday, in accordance with Islamic rites.
