ICPC Interrogates APC Candidate Okoro Over Corruption Claims

On September 17, 2026, Engr. Toyin Zacheous Okoro, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for South Federal Constituency I, was interrogated by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) regarding allegations of conflict of interest, contract manipulation, and false declarations to electoral authorities. Okoro, who secured the APC primary nomination in May 2026 for the 2027 general elections, arrived at the ICPC headquarters in Abuja around 2 p.m. and was questioned for over two hours before being released on bail at approximately 5 p.m.

The ICPC's invitation, dated September 7, 2026, indicated that Okoro is under investigation for allegedly serving as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of a private company while also being a Senior Legislative Aide.
