BREAKING: IGP Orders Review Of Amnesty International Report On Killings In South-East

The Police Inspector General (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has ordered a thorough review of Amnesty International's recent report on killings in the South-East region of Nigeria. The report accused the Nigeria Police Force of extrajudicial killings and widespread human rights violations.

Egbetokun directed relevant police departments to assess the allegations meticulously and update their operational records and intelligence reports. The IGP emphasized the commitment of the police force to protecting fundamental human rights and ensuring accountability.

The Defense Headquarters also dismissed the report, urging Nigerians to recognize the sacrifices made by security operatives for a safer country. Egbetokun assured that the review process would be based on verifiable facts and operational evidence.

He expressed readiness to engage with civil society groups, the National Human Rights Commission, and international partners to address security and human rights concerns.
