INEC Launches Final Phase of Voter Registration in Nigeria

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of the third and final phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, which will take place nationwide from May 11, 2026, to July 10, 2026. Mohammed Kudu Haruna, the Chairman of the Voter Education Committee at INEC, disclosed that this phase follows the suspension of the second phase on April 17, 2026, to allow for the cleaning of the voter register.

This final phase presents an opportunity for eligible Nigerians, particularly those who have reached the age of 18 and missed earlier registration windows, to enroll and obtain their voter records. INEC encourages already registered voters wishing to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or update their biodata to utilize the online portal or visit INEC offices at state and local government levels.

Additionally, INEC announced that the voter register will be displayed for public scrutiny from July 23 to July 29, 2026, allowing citizens to submit claims or objections to ensure an accurate and credible register.
