INEC Resumes Voter Registration for 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has initiated the final phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to a statement from the INEC chairman, the third and final phase of the CVR will commence on Monday, May 11, 2026, and conclude on Friday, July 10, 2026.

This exercise aims to allow eligible citizens who are 18 years and older and were unable to register during earlier phases to take advantage of the current registration period. Additionally, voters wishing to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or correct their biodata can do so through this exercise.

INEC has provided a dedicated online portal at http://cvr.inecnigeria.org and encourages citizens to visit their state and local government area offices nationwide. Furthermore, INEC officials will display the list of registered voters for claims and objections from Thursday, July 23, to Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
