INEC Names Kefas Ropshik as Plateau PDP Candidate for 2027

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognized Kefas Wungak Ropshik as the governorship candidate for Plateau State representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 general elections. This announcement, made on September 2, follows weeks of contention within the Plateau PDP, where rival factions claimed the party's governorship ticket.

Ropshik, also known as Kefiano, stated that the INEC's publication settles the debate regarding the party's candidate. He had previously urged his supporters to remain patient during the controversy, emphasizing that the electoral process would ultimately determine the rightful candidate.

The Ropshik campaign dismissed a circulating document claiming Garba Biggs as the candidate, labeling it "fake and misleading." The campaign called for respect for the electoral process and urged other aspirants to avoid actions that could further divide the party.
