INEC Uploads 37% of Osun Election Results to IReV

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 37% of polling-unit results from the 2026 Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal as of 5:27 p.m. on Saturday. This initiative aims to enhance public access and transparency in the electoral process.

Voters in Osun State participated in the election to choose a governor for a four-year term, with fifteen political parties on the ballot. Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke is seeking re-election with the Accord Party, while his main opponents include Bola Oyebamiji from the All Progressives Congress and Najeem Salaam from the African Democratic Congress.

Prior to the election, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and the Allied Peoples Movement candidate withdrew from the race, endorsing Oyebamiji and Adeleke, respectively. Early results indicated Accord received 57 votes at Polling Unit 026, Ward 5, in Osogbo, while the APC garnered 43 votes.

Reports of voter intimidation, vote buying, and isolated violence have emerged, although many areas experienced peaceful voting. The figures on INEC's portal are preliminary and do not represent the final election outcome, which will be officially declared after collation.
