INEC Receives 80% Election Materials for Osun Guber Poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that it has received 80% of the non-sensitive materials necessary for the Osun State governorship election, which is scheduled for August 15. Oluwatoyin Babalola, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Osun State, disclosed this information during a news conference held at the commission's headquarters in Osogbo.

Babalola emphasized that INEC is making steady preparations for the election and is working closely with relevant security agencies to ensure the safe storage and protection of the election materials. She addressed concerns regarding voter apathy and urged stakeholders, including political parties, civil society organizations, religious leaders, community leaders, and journalists, to play an important role in encouraging eligible voters to participate in the electoral process.

Babalola also appealed to media organizations to support the electoral process by providing fair, balanced, and credible reporting throughout the election period, urging journalists to avoid overheating the political atmosphere.
