Kenneth Okonkwo Accuses Peter Obi of Corruption

Kenneth Okonkwo, a renowned actor and politician, has publicly accused Peter Obi, the leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), of demanding illicit payments from political aspirants during the party's primary elections. Okonkwo claims that aspirants were coerced into making payments of 10 million naira for House of Representatives tickets and 20 million naira for Senate tickets.

He disclosed these allegations during a Channel Television interview, where he also mentioned that Obi's legal team threatened him with a five billion naira defamation lawsuit. Okonkwo shared excerpts from private conversations with Obunik Ohaegbu, a representative for NDC aspirants, expressing frustration over the legitimacy of the candidate list compiled by Obi.

He further alleged that Obi was aware of the financial demands made by the party and called for an investigation into the NDC's financial practices, emphasizing the need for restitution for aspirants who lost money during the primary cycle.
