Okonkwo Accuses Obi of Financial Misconduct; Ohaegbu Responds

Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former presidential campaign spokesperson, accused Peter Obi of financial impropriety related to the collection of money from aspirants seeking party tickets. Okonkwo alleged that a House of Representatives aspirant paid N10 million and a senatorial aspirant paid N20 million during the party's candidate selection process.

He claimed that Ohaegbu provided receipts to justify these payments. In response, Ohaegbu denied Okonkwo's allegations, expressing disappointment at what he termed a malicious attempt to malign Obi.

Ohaegbu stated that there were no monetary demands made during his discussions with Obi and that the claims were untrue. He emphasized that any receipts related to the payments were not classified and should be available for public scrutiny.

Ohaegbu urged the NDC to cease attacks against Obi and reaffirmed his commitment to the party's presidential candidacy.
