Kogi State Government Shuts Down Markets and Motor Parks in Security Operation

The Kogi State Government, led by Governor Yahaya Bello, has announced the temporary closure of specific markets and motor parks in the Kogi West Senatorial District to support ongoing security operations. The shutdown, effective across seven local government areas, including Lokoja and Kabba Bunu, targets areas like Oshokoshoko, Jakura, and Agbaja.

The directive affects communities in various local government areas, including Yagba West and Yagba East. The move is part of coordinated clearance operations in collaboration with national security agencies to dismantle terrorist cells, bandit networks, and criminal groups in the region.

The state government emphasized that the closures are strictly temporary and will be lifted once security operations conclude. This action comes amidst heightened security concerns in Kogi State, with recent arrests made by the state police command in connection with criminal activities like kidnapping.
