Arese Ugwu Takes Over as Acting MD of NASD

The National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) has appointed Mrs. Arese Ugwu as its new Acting Managing Director, as announced on Friday via its Instagram account. She succeeds Mr. Eguarekhide Longe, the immediate past Managing Director.
In her response, Mrs. Ugwu expressed her vision to position NASD as a marketplace where Nigeria’s growth businesses can secure necessary capital and where investors can engage with the value generated. This appointment marks the second leadership change since the departure of the pioneer Managing Director, Mr. Bola Ajomale, who retired in July 2022 and is currently the Director of Market Operations at Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Ajomale led NASD from its inception until his retirement, after which Mr. Eguarekhide Longe took over leadership.
