Breaking: NNPP defeats APC in keenly contested Kano by-election

In a closely contested by-election in Kano State, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) emerged victorious over the All Progressives Congress (APC). The NNPP candidate, Dr.

Ali Hassan Kiyawa, was declared the winner by the State Assembly returning officer, Professor Hassan Adamu Shitu, on Sunday, August 16. Kiyawa defeated the APC candidate, Ahmad Muhammad Kadamu, in the vote count.

Following the announcement, the APC party leader staged a protest at the INEC office in Kano, accusing the commission of attempting to manipulate the constituency. However, the spokesperson for Kano State Governor Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa stated that they would respect the election result once it was announced.
