Oldest Nigerian Missionary Ruth Elton Passes Away at 91

Ruth Elton, a renowned missionary and the oldest serving missionary in Nigeria, passed away at the age of 91 in Ilesa, Osun State. Born in 1933, Elton dedicated her life to serving communities across Kogi, Ondo, Oyo, and Osun States.

She renounced her British citizenship in the 1970s to become a Nigerian national, fluent in Ebira and Yoruba languages. Elton was known for her grassroots health initiatives that significantly reduced infant mortality in Okene, Kogi State.

Her death marks the end of an era in Nigerian missionary work, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication.
