FG Charges Three Over Oyo School Kidnap Incident

The Federal Government of Nigeria has filed charges against three individuals—Abdulrazak Umar, Khalifa Abu Khalid, and Yunusa Musa—over their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of school children and teachers in the Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State. The charges, which were filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja, include ten counts related to terrorism, conspiracy, and aiding the kidnapping, which occurred between January and May 2026.

The accused are alleged to have conspired with Muhammad Sani Jibril and Moham Ibrahim Khabab to carry out the kidnapping, violating the Terrorism Prevention and Prohibition Act of 2022. Additionally, Abdulrazak Umar faces specific accusations of providing training and inciting members to commit acts of terror via a WhatsApp group titled "Allah Foundation of Peace." The charges also include engaging in illegal gold mining activities in Suleja, Niger State, during the same period.
