PDP Factional Chair Tanimu Turaki Granted N100m Bail

On Wednesday, Tanimu Turaki, the factional chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), was arraigned in a high court located in Maitama, Federal Capital Territory. He faces allegations of giving false information to the police, which has added a legal twist to the ongoing internal struggles within the party.

Turaki appeared in court where he pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read. The prosecution, led by an officer from the Inspector General of Police, argued that Turaki's actions were intended to provoke police action against Said Mainasara, claiming that the information provided was false and misleading.

Following the plea, the court considered a bail application, which was granted by the presiding judge, setting the bail amount at N100 million. The court established conditions to ensure Turaki's appearance throughout the trial.

The matter has been adjourned to a later date for further proceedings, with the legal teams expected to prepare detailed arguments for the next hearing.
