BREAKING: PDP’s Fola Oyekunle wins Ibadan north by-election

Fola Oyekunle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged victorious in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election in Oyo State, defeating Adewale Olatunji of the Progressives Congress (APC). Oyekunle secured the win with a decisive lead in votes, announced by the Returning Officer Abiodun Oluwadare at the collation center in Ibadan.

The seat had become vacant following the death of APC's Olaide Akinremi in July. This victory is seen as a significant boost for the PDP in Oyo State, where the ruling party continues to consolidate its grip.

Despite low voter turnout, the PDP supporters celebrated the win on social media, praising the transparent and orderly collation process. Governor Seyi Makinde is expected to issue a formal congratulatory message to Oyekunle, strengthening the PDP's hold on National Assembly representation in the state and potentially setting.
