By-Election: Ex-Ogun PDP Chair Mocks Adebutu Over Polling Unit, Ward Loss

The by-election in Iperu III, Ikenne Local Government, saw the Progressive Congress (APC) secure 96 votes, while the People's Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 60 votes, with other parties receiving fewer votes. The election aimed to fill the vacant North Federal Constituency seat left by the late Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga.

The former Ogun PDP Chair mocked PDP's Ladi Adebutu over the loss at his polling unit and ward. The APC candidate, Bolarinwa Oluwole Ogundele, who recently defected from the PDP, attributed Adebutu's defeat to a mass exodus of credible members to the ruling party.

Ogundele predicted continued poor performance by the PDP in future elections, citing a lack of trust in the party's leadership. The APC chairman emphasized their party's organization and credibility compared to the PDP.
