Peter Obi Demands Tinubu's Resignation Over Governance Failures

Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate, has publicly called for the resignation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing what he describes as "monumental failure" in governance. Obi's statement, made via his X account, highlights the worsening economic conditions, insecurity, and declining living standards across Nigeria.

He compared Tinubu's situation to that of UK Labour leader Keir Starmer, who called for resignation in response to public dissatisfaction. Obi recalled that during the 2015 presidential election, Tinubu had repeatedly demanded the resignation of former President Goodluck Jonathan due to similar issues of insecurity and economic hardship.

He criticized Tinubu for failing to deliver on campaign promises, particularly regarding electricity supply and anti-corruption efforts. Obi emphasized the need for accountability in leadership to restore public confidence in governance, urging that Tinubu's resignation would send a strong signal about the responsibility of public officials.
