Peter Obi Raises Concerns Over Survival for 2027 Elections

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and a presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2027 elections, stated that he may not be alive to contest due to what he perceives as deliberate government actions aimed at frustrating opposition figures. In an interview with Chude Jideonwo on Wednesday, Obi responded to a question regarding his candidacy, indicating that the situation extends beyond mere candidacy concerns.

He described his experiences with government actions as increasingly frustrating and abnormal, noting that he does not directly accuse anyone of plotting against him. Obi recounted incidents where he felt obstructed, including an experience at an airport where officials allegedly locked vehicles, preventing access.

He also mentioned that people avoid greeting him in public due to fear of repercussions, highlighting the tense political climate as the 2027 general elections approach.
