Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has surprised many by openly campaigning for an African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Justina Azuka, in the upcoming Anambra by-election. Azuka, the widow of a late Labour Party lawmaker, entered the race on the ADC platform after her husband's tragic killing last December.

Obi was seen wearing an ADC branded cap while showing his support for Azuka in Onitsha North State Constituency. In a statement posted on social media, Obi emphasized the importance of a united opposition front to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.

He stressed the need for collective interests to outweigh the influence of any single individual in politics. This move by Obi signifies a shift in political alliances and strategies ahead of the upcoming election.
