Soludo Mocks Peter Obi Over ADC’s Poor Showing in Anambra By-election

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State mocked former governor and Labour Party's 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, after the African Democratic Congress (ADC) performed poorly in a by-election. Despite Obi's endorsement of the ADC candidate and urging supporters to back the party, the move failed to yield results as the ADC suffered heavy defeats across the state and Anambra South Senatorial District.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Emmanuel Nwachukwu, as the winner, defeating the ADC and APC candidates. Soludo taunted Obi, stating that the ADC and Labour Party were irrelevant in Anambra politics, emphasizing that the people overwhelmingly rejected them.

The results of the by-election sent a clear signal that Anambra remained firmly behind APGA, with Soludo seeking to use this as a test case for the upcoming elections in November 2025.
