President Tinubu Ends Emergency Rule in Rivers State, Reinstates Governor Fubara

President Tinubu has officially ended the state of emergency in Rivers State, reinstating Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Deputy Governor Ngozi Nma Odu, and members of the River State House of Assembly. The emergency rule, declared in March 2025 due to a constitutional impasse, had brought the state to a standstill.

The move is aimed at restoring democratic governance and peace in the state, following a period of political turmoil and division. President Tinubu commended the stakeholders in Rivers State for their newfound spirit of understanding and cooperation.
