Rivers State Successfully Implements Tinubu's Mandate with Local Government Elections

Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Rtd Ekwe Ibas, declared that President Bola Tinubu's mandate has been fulfilled in Rivers following the successful conduct of local government elections. The elections aimed to restore order and democratic institutions in the state.

Tinubu had declared a state of emergency in Rivers on March 18, 2025, to prevent a political crisis. The peaceful elections across 23 LGAs were a significant step towards stabilizing the state.

The presentation of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) report confirmed the achievement of Tinubu's directive. The move is seen as a crucial development in the state's political landscape.
