Tinubu Orders Immediate Review of 2026 Hajj Fares to Ease Financial Burden

President Bola Tinubu has directed the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to review the 2026 Hajj fares to reduce the financial burden on intending pilgrims. The directive came during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where Deputy Chief of Staff Ibrahim Hadeija conveyed the order.

The aim is to produce a new, reduced rate within two days. This move is expected to significantly lower the cost of the pilgrimage.

The Secretary of NAHCON, Mustapha Mohammad, welcomed the directive, ensuring it will allow more Muslims to participate in the pilgrimage. Various Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards also hailed the intervention.
