NARD Initiates 5-Day Warning Strike Over Poor Conditions

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) in Nigeria has declared a five-day warning strike starting September 12, 2025, to address various issues like poor working conditions, power shortages, and inadequate remuneration. The decision was made following a National Executive Council meeting.

The strike is set to run until September 16, 2025, affecting public hospitals nationwide. NARD President Osundara Zenith confirmed the readiness of members to shut down hospitals during the strike.

The FCT chapter of the association had already commenced a separate warning strike earlier. This action aims to draw attention to the challenges faced by resident doctors in the country's healthcare system.
