Nigerian Doctors Begin 5-Day Warning Strike Demanding Better Conditions

The National Association of Resident Doctors in Nigeria has declared a 5-day nationwide warning strike starting from Friday, September 12, 2025, to press home their demands. The decision was reached during an online meeting of the National Executive Council.

The strike is set to end on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The doctors are demanding action on issues such as power shortages, downgrading of certificates, and poor remuneration.

This strike follows a warning strike by the FCT Association of Resident Doctors. Hospital managements have been directed to be informed and the doctors are determined to press for their collective demands.
