Rivers State to Lift Emergency Rule with Church Thanksgiving Service

The Rivers State Government has announced the lifting of the emergency rule imposed earlier in the year, marking a return to full democratic governance. The transition will be celebrated with an interdenominational church thanksgiving service at the Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt.

Key stakeholders, including government officials, security agencies, traditional rulers, and industry captains, have been invited to the event. Vice Admiral Ibas has been appointed as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State for the transition period.

This move signifies a significant step towards restoring normalcy and democratic processes in the state after the period of emergency rule.
