Samson Adamu Becomes First Nigerian CAF Secretary-General

Samson Adamu has been appointed as the Secretary-General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), marking a significant milestone as he becomes the first Nigerian to hold this position. Adamu's appointment was confirmed on Sunday, March 29, 2026, during a CAF executive committee meeting held at the Giza Palace Hotel in Cairo, Egypt.

He replaces Veron Mosengo-Omba, who tendered his resignation. Prior to this role, Adamu served as CAF's Director of Tournament and Event.
