Thugs Burn ADC Ward Office in Amaechi's Hometown

Early on Friday, thugs set fire to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ward office located in Ubima, the hometown of former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi. This attack occurred just hours before Amaechi was expected to formally register the party at the ward level, escalating political tensions in the community.

The assailants reportedly destroyed several items inside the office, including party documents and materials. Local sources allege that the attack was orchestrated by individuals loyal to the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who has been a long-time political rival of Amaechi.

The incident has heightened fears among residents and supporters of Amaechi as they prepare for the party registration. No casualties were reported at the time of the incident, but the destruction of the party office has further deepened the already tense political atmosphere in Rivers State.

Efforts to obtain an official response from the Rivers State Police Command were unsuccessful.
