ADC Condemns Arson Attack on Party Secretariat in Rivers

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has condemned the burning of its party secretariat located in Ubima, Rivers State, describing the incident as a criminal attack on democracy and an escalation of political violence. Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's spokesperson, issued a statement highlighting that the attack is part of a broader pattern of intimidation against ADC members and supporters across Nigeria.

He noted that this incident follows a series of violent acts, including the shooting of several party members during political gatherings and harassment of party offices. Abdullahi emphasized the need for political tolerance and the protection of constitutional rights, warning that violence and intimidation should not become tools in political competition.

He called on security agencies to conduct an immediate investigation into the incident and ensure that those responsible for sponsoring political violence are brought to justice. Despite the attacks, Abdullahi affirmed the ADC's commitment to building a democratic Nigeria based on justice and the rule of law.
